Personal Plus 2016 fails to open normally after several years of using Reckon, with no problems, I have to copy my memory stick backup file every time I want to start. After using it, I do the normal backup to hard drive, but the next time I want to start I have to use the memory stick every time. Any solutions?

When you say, "fails to open normally", Michael, what happens, or what message do you get?

Check this - Open PP, Under File Menu>Open - Confirm Look in Quicken - points to - This PC>Documents>Quicken

Reckon used to go straight to a working page. Now, it treats me as if I was a band new account and I have to go through the routing to manually point it to the saved account file. It DOES point to C:\\ Reckon\Backup when I see the details and it is not a read only atribute

How long is your file name, Michael?  I have old files with long file names and whilst I can open them from within Reckon, if I close the program I receive the "are you new to Reckon" on re-starting.  Clicking on Open a File on this Computer, it opens in the folder where the long file named file was opened previously.

If it points to C:\Reckon\Backup, is that the Folder you have selected under Reckon Account Preferences/Setup/Backup?  You could set that to your memory stick if you want your backups there - not that I've ever used a backup file!
