I have Quicken Personal Plus - for last 2 weeks on closing (not back-up) Qdata file has been added to my documents folder instead of where it was usually stored - don't know why this has suddenly been happening - any ideas?

Hi Ted,
Welcome to Reckon Community. Thank you for the post.
Few questions:
what operating system are you using?
what version of Quicken Personal plus are you using?
where do you normally backup the data file?
keep us posted

Thanks for your quick reply - I am using Windows 7, Quicken Personal Plus 2005, and Quicken is backed up to a portable hard drive. However, problem is with the usual file storage of Qdata file on closing QUicken (i.e. without backing up) - this should normally be stored somewhere in the Quicken program files shouldn't it? For some reason for the last few weeks it is being added each time to my documents folder in WIndows - thanks again for your help

Hi Ted, thanks for that information.
Please check the following :
Try executing the program in built in Admin mode
Right click on the Quicken icon on your desktop and select the option run as Administrator.
Ensure the backup location is set to your portable hard drive rather than my documents.
click on File -> backup ->
check the path
Check the quicken preferences by click on Edit->Preferences->Quicken Program -> Backup- what figures do you have under Remind after running Quicken
- Maximum number of backup copies
- is the "Warn before overwriting old files" ticked?
