gob smacked -Frustrated installation

So April I updated to Reckon 2013 to update my share prices in SMSF and personal accounts... July Im told this service is ending
September I purchase 2015
Today I have ... run installation . Installer unzips(5mins); installer informs me there is a previous version installed
remove and run installer
   Installer unzips (5mins); Installer proceeds and begins to run program(7mins) program stops and tells me the program is corrupt (not my data)

Try again... oops didnt uninstall
Try again same error
download new installation exe
try again didnt uninstall
try again  - fail
uninstall
re-install (without HUBB or converter)...installation is hanging on blue progress bar at around 80%

All this when I would expect to be still using quite happily the software purchased in April, less than 6 months ago!!

Did you do a clean uninstall & then restart in safe mode?  Of course make sure you have at least one backup of your data first.  Then do a clean uninstall, meaning deleting anything (folders etc) to do with Quicken, Reckon, Intuit on your computer, emptying the recycle bin & restarting in safe mode to re-install?

Oh and make sure anti-virus is off when trying to re-install please.

BTW the files referred to in this article seem outdated? 
It is currently installing in Program FIles(x86)/Reckon

negative on the safe mode...but honestly..need it be this hard? Hardly instils confidence!

Currently staring at this (again)...at least it's not an error. Im gonna have (another ) coffee only wasted 2 hours on this today!

Oh at least they admitted that I shouldn't have had to pay for an upgrade within 4 months!
