when i work out the GST due with the quick books(2010 - 2011) the total purchases & expenses is $170,685.89 when I do it online IRD it is $94560.90 but the amount to pay is the same?

zero rated supplies including in box 5 0.00

That doesn't make sense then. There must be some zero GST gross figures included in the $179,685.89. Have you checked the GST audit trail to confirm the figures ?

gst is included in this amount - no i haven't checked the gst audit i will do that

Print a Cash Tax and Cash Net report (assuming you are on the Cash Basis for Reporting purposes.

I will txt you two photos. One of the quickbooks GST due for 01/02/207 to 31/03/2017 and one from IRDs. Then I will give you a call. You will see the amount to pay is the same box no 11(total purchases and expenses is different.0
