HELP PLEASE!! Item price increases

I have a huge bill to enter with hundreds of items.All have had a price increase. I am overriding each item with the new cost price but I see in my item list that each item still has the old pricing in it. Is there a way I can permanently override the price of an item when I enter a new bill and ALSO have the percentage I have set be adjusted accordingly so I also have a new increased SALES price? When I manually increase the item cost price in the system the sales price does not automatically increase with the percentage I have set up either!

(You've not specified what program you're using or posted your question under a particular category so I'm assuming you're referring to either Reckon Accounts or Reckon Accounts Hosted ....)

Yes, the “Update ...” prompt is a Preference setting but you may have selected not to show it again previously.

The good news is you can easily reinstate these prompts.  The bad news is it will reinstate ALL prompts so just select not to show it again for the ones you don’t want, going forward.



  • Click on Edit along top toolbar > Preferences in dropdown Menu
  • Select General in LHS List
  • On the My Preferences tab, tick the checkbox for “Bring back all one time messages
  • Click OK to save your changes


When you next override an Item price, you should get the prompt asking if you want to update the list price. 

REMEMBER: If you always want it to update, DON’T select the “Do not show this again” checkbox!
