Hi All, Is there a way in Reckon Accounts Desktop to create an ABA file for customer direct debits?

So for receiving money, as opposed to paying suppliers. Our current banking portal is not very user friendly for setting up direct debits, so if Reckon cant do this, is there a 3rd party software that could ? If anyone has any advice on this, would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

    Hi Leshelle,

have a look at this too - I have been using it for years!!

    http://callidex.com/blog/2012/08/20/aba-file-generator-for-payroll/

is the link for the ABA creator – it works both ways – in the file .xlsb you change the column entry type to Debit if you want to draw funds from cust bank acc and make the amount negative

otherwise positive numbers and column entry type Credit runs just like a normal aba that we use for payroll or supplier payments

    Thanks Gillian
In one ABA file can you upload multiple debits to draw funds from the same cust bank acc to occur on different dates? Or is it one ABA file per payment date?
Just looked at the link, sounds like what we are after. We really just want to upload a month at a time of fortnightly direct debits, with ability to customise each with a ref #.

    Hi Leshelle,

it is 1 file per date, but you should download the trial and give it a go...to see if the ref # field is what you want...
I found them very helpful if you needed any customisation.

Hi Leshelle, have you ever tried www.abacreator.com   it works for payments, direct debit and also has a version with email remittance advice, all in Excel.
