Hi - Can anyone tell me how when setting up a new client account and entering the customer details how you can assign each customer with an existing balance to there account. I am moving a client over to Reckon and the customers may owe or may have a credit and I need to show this balance in their accounts

Hello Clive,
Welcome to the Reckon Community.
You'll need to do journals (Day to Day > Business > Journals) against Accounts Receivable on one side and Open Balance Equity on the other side. Each customer will need its own line and you can create the customer simply by typing the name into the Customer field on the transaction line - a form for the creation of the customer record will open.
Don't forget to ensure the total debits are equal to the total credits.
Go to the Reports Centre > Customers > Aged Debtors Transaction to see the entries.
These entries will not appear on an Unpaid Invoices report - if you need them here then you'd be best to have the start date of the Book set to the first of the previous financial year and enter the invoices individually for their respective dates. You may need to adjust the opening balances of any accounts affected by these individual entries.
Hope this helps.
regards,
