Reckon changed share price service providers more than a year ago and failed to inform unsers.  Users were not given the opportunity to provide feedback on any problems associated with the change.
There was indeed a problem (or a number of problems) which damaged my historical records dating back to 2002.
As is standard practice for Reckon, the "blame" for the problem was passed back to me.
No communication with developers is permitted, which means that problems/ bugs reported by users go unfixed.
Reckon never (almost) provides updates to software which fixes bugs or improves the function of features.
I continue to have problems with share price downloads, which are not of my making.
You will not receive information from Reckon on how to fix your problems, which Reckon will assert are of your making.
With some experimentation or advice from other users, you might find a solution.  Or, more likely, you will not.
Sorry for such a negative response, however, it is best that you be aware of "how things are".

Hello David,

Sorry to hear you are having some difficulties with the exchange rate update.

Did you experience a problem and what was error message generated?
Was this the first update of exchange rates in the 2018 version?
Were you updating both share prices and exchange rates?
Does the error occur if you update currencies only? (Online > One Step Update, then untick Download Stock.... and tick only Download currency... Click Update Now)

After you get the exchange rates updated for the first time updating both share prices and exchange rates will not be an issue.

Hope this helps.

regards,
John

Hello Archie,

I'm sorry to hear you are still having problems with your share price updates.

Most users do not have the problem you describe, and those that did experience it have made corrections and are enjoying daily updates.

One common aspect that led to incorrect updates was the introduction of the ASX GSIC indices in the 2017 release  This entailed a change in the format of the security type: Market Index.  Previously this type correctly handled the secuity type: Stock, as it was never configured specifically for any type of security.  Since 2017 it would treat the price series as an Index only.  Any share inadvertently set with the type Market Index rather than Stock, produced a result 1,000's times higher.  Resetting the type option to Stock resulted in the correct prices appearing.

Hope this helps.

If there are any other problems please let us know.

regards,
John
