I have a staff member commencing this month whom wishes to purchase additional leave.  Reckon Premier software does not cater for this.  Can you advise how this can be implemented in Reckon Premier?

Not sure what you mean by purchasing additional leave.

Don't quite understand what you're getting at. Has the staff member paid you a lump sum so he can go on an extra weeks holiday, why would he do that. If he wants an extra week holiday then it can be unpaid leave or is he having an amount deducted so that he has enough money for an extra week.

Purchasing additional leave is extra leave in addition to entitled annual leave.  The staff member can purchase it through reduction of annual salary in lieu of receiving the additional leave.  MYOB does have the capability for this. All I need to know is if Reckon can facilitate. The question is not why should the person do it..

This is not standard, however you can set this up by reducing the annual leave amount on a weekly basis so that the extra leave is covered when taken.
You can then adjust the amount of leave accrued each week or you can use the Other 1 or Other 2 options and rename them in Payroll Preferences if needed.

Then the thing to do is create the deduction and point it to a liability account in his name. When he wants the extra leave and or money just pay it out of the liability account to him.

I would not be seeing this as extra leave. What he is actually doing is having a salary deduction being held in your bank account till he wants it to fund his extra weeks unpaid leave.

This is his own money from his weekly/fortnightly/monthly salary that he can call upon at any time if he needs it. It does not necessarily have to be to cover his unpaid leave, it can be anything.
