How do I install barcode scanning in Enterprise 2015?

I have just purchases a barcode scanner, when I add a barcode to the item in the barcode field it shows up correctly, How do I set it up so when I scan the barcode, it links the particular barcode to my item number?

Hi Jason,

When adding barcodes to an item you will need to scan both barcode in the “Barcode” section and the “Item Name/Number”. Reckon Accounts will refer to the “Item Name/Number” to match with the physical barcode,

To add the product name and product description they must be reflected in both the “Description on Purchase Transactions” and “Description on Sales Transactions”

Psst Leon, the ~ isn't needed to be added in RA, its only used by the POS system to signal its a barcode by the scanner. Infact adding ~ in RA will break things

Hi, thanks for that, unfortunately we already have an inventory of 20,000+ items with suppliers part numbers entered into the "Item Name/Number" field, are there any software add ons that can link the barcode and item name fields. 
Currently we enter the "item Number" in the item number field in our in invoices to add a product, we also show this part number on the invoice for reference.

What are you WANTING to do?

Sounds like you want to scan a barcode number to enter the product in to a invoice when you're creating a invoice? Is this CORRECT?
