How do I show that an account or an asset is only 50% mine

I have Personal 2016 and I want to show that some of my accounts and assets are only 50% mine when it calculates my net assets. How do I do that ?

    One approach would be to journal 50%  of the value of the asset in question as an equity account of the 'other' party.

    If you attempt to reduce the asset by 50% you're risking losing control of the actual value of the asset itself (as opposed to the equity held by another party).
