How do I enter a negative $ amount when making an adjustment? My app says that "-" isn't a valid number. The end of financial year figures on my STP are greater than shown in my records. Thanks!

Hi, we have the same problem.  I haven't yet tried to enter the negative amount.  Waiting to see what you are advised.  Good luck.

See Ravs comment 2 days ago. Double click seems to work

Sorry I’m obviously bad at this. I don’t know what Rav meant by double tapping the .- button. I’m using the free app on an iPhone 11. I don’t know what the .- button is

I am using App on an iPhone X, there is no problem with the - which is below the 1 on the numeric keypad. There is no need to double tap the - .

Hi guys,
This is dependent on your model/keyboard app/OS version of your phone however if you can't see the minus symbol immediately on-screen then double tap the .- button and slide the box to the negative symbol.
Enter the value you wish to adjust by into the field first.

I finally had success this morning by typing the figure then going back and inserting the dash “-“ symbol

Thanks for replying Rav. I still don't know how to enter the negative amount. I have created a new adjustment. Then I go to "edit pay details". When I touch Gross Pay (Adjustment), I see my normal iphone 11 keyboard. Which symbol do I double tap?

Hi Jennifer,
If you see the normal - symbol in your iPhone keyboard then add that in front of the number in the respective field.

A question though, are you trying to negatively adjust MORE than what is shown in your Pay Summary for the relevant employee?
The reason I ask is, the adjustment needs to contain the amount you are amending the value BY and not what the figure should be.

The totals of my "EOFY" are also about double what I calculate. Must be a problem in software addition. Also what happens to "Allowances" that top up JobKeeper. Are they reported to ATO?

Hi Rav. I’m only trying to adjust my employee’s salary by $1196 - not more than she was paid. I just can’t enter a negative amount. Do I need a different keyboard app? I’ll attach screenshots. Thanks

Jennifer, I don't know if you've solved this yet but I finally get myself sorted and start to input the negative amounts and I get the same error message as you did.  After a lot of confusion etc over the whole end of year stuff, this seemed to be the last straw.  Then I realised if you just kept typing the amount, it would accept the negative sign.  Success at last!
