How do we set  custom Remittance advice as the default? I have inactivated the standard RA remittance form (no longer in Lists/Templates) but when I go to print/email the remittance I have to select our custom one.

Hi Alison,

Thank you for your post.

You will have to select it all the time due to the product design of this area. We have just added the new customizable template for Remittance Advise.

This KB will give you the same info: http://kb.reckon.com.au/issue_view.asp?ID=5288

Apologies for any inconveniences caused by this.

Thank you.

Seriously who thought this was a GOOD design idea?

We suffer from this 'default' issue and its painful. Why hasn't reckon gotten around to fixing this many many year old bug?

On top of suffering weekly with this 'feature' and it would also be wonderful if we could PRINT Remittance Advices as well, but no. Can't do that either!

Hi Andrew,

Thank you for your post.

I've passed your feedback to the Developers.

You can print Remittance Advice. To do this:

  1. Go to File > Print Forms > Remittance Advice...

  2. Select your template (from right) and tick the ones you want to print and hit OK.

Your Remittance Advice(s) will now print.
I hope the above helps.

Cheers,

Ifti

Hi Ifti!

YAY!!!

Well what do you know! I was searching for this the other day when the accounts lady was asking about it. A google didn't turn up much, so I assumed it wasn't there. Which I thought was strange. But glad to hear that I'm wrong.

But why oh why does Reckon make TWO different ways to do basically the same thing!? You have this way to PRINT Remittance advices, but to EMAIL them, you go through a totally different method? ie Supplier Centre > click on email > click on supplier remittance advices.

Its very confusing!

Hi Andrew,

Thanks for that.

To email Remittance, please do the similar steps.

  1. Go to File > Send Forms to Email > Supplier Remittance Advice

Thanks

Oh touché.... So you can! But you can also do it the Supplier Centre > click on email > click on supplier remittance advices way as well. Which is the way I found most people said to do it.

Thanks for that. Learnt something new today! YAY! I shall go let the accounts lady know, I'm sure she'll be happy as me!

If a customised template is made, and the RA one deactivated it should NOT appear. These small steps are all time consuming, and if wrong ones sent out they don't look as professional. Please forward to the developers to try to get this changes for all templates. Many Thanks

Yes I was a little cranky too Loir when the old disable all the others trick didn't work for Remittance advices.

Really, I shouldn't have to do this trick at all. There should be a default settings page/option, where you can set each and every forms DEFAULT. There are valid reasons to have different invoice layouts for example.

Another reckon 'feature'.

Plus if we forget to change it and email out Remittance advices, our company looks 'shabby'.... yay!

Hi Lori and Andrew,

I understand where you're coming from.

I have forwarded your feedback to our Developers already about this option to consider for future releases.

Thanks again for your valuable feedback.

Thanks

Thanks Ifti...... I've got about a million 'feedback requests' in the system between Reckon Accounts and Point of Sales, but I don't like my chances of seeing any being actioned!

It would also help if the Suggest Features actually worked. It keeps coming up with script error and when that finally disappears says that my browser is not supported but I am running the latest version of Chrome. If the features is no longer available and has to be done via the community then it should link straight to it.

Hi Nori,

I'm sorry the error message is a little confusing as it does not really involve your browser.  It is a fault within Reckon Accounts that is being investigated by the developers.

Our Developers would love to hear your suggestions so please post it here on the Community as an Idea.  It'll be taken into consideration with other suggestions in their normal planning and development cycle.

Has anybody had any more joy with this silly default remittance templates?

If we cannot set a new default template, then it would be great if we could at least modify the standard one to be a little more in theme with our other documents...

At this stage, no fix Phil. You can't edit the 'default' standard template, and you can't change the default template to be a different one.

The great news is as Alison pointed out below, the fix will be to cough up some money and 'upgrade' to the bug fix version being Reckon Accounts 2016, but that is 5 months away.

Until then, like the rest of us, you'll have to manually select the remittance template :(
After following up further with Reckon I received the following response: "Our product management team have identified this issue to be scoped for a fix in the March 2016 release."  I did ask if there was a way they could let the Community know if possible.  So we will have to remember to change to our chose format until March.  Kind regards,  Alison

It's still not fixed in Reckon Accounts 2016. Furthermore, if the company name is longer than the standard template can handle, it just gets chopped off and doesn't appear when printed.

So missed RA2016 release wonder if it made it into RA2017 or we need to wait till 2018!
