I am using POS with a customer display pole and running promo's. When I enter a promo item during the transaction into the POS terminal the pole displays only the original price and not the discounted price. I have had many customer queries relating to the item not being discounted and have to assure them that it actually is. Is there a way for me to display to discounted price on the pole?

    Hi Brook,

    Thank you for your question.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to have the Customer Display Pole to show the discounted price.

It has been designed this way since the price of an item can vary during the transaction, therefore POS will show the full price in the customer display to avoid incorrect pricing.

As a workaround, if the customer needs to know how much is owed at any point during a transaction, the operator can press the 'Subtotal' function, which will display the amount owing including any discounts up to that point.

    Thank you.

    Regards,

    Michael

    Thanks for the reply Michael.

I'm not quite sure I understand the reasoning that you have implemented the pole to display the total price as I'm not sure how the price of an item can change during the transaction?

I appreciate what you are suggesting for the workaround, but it unfortunately does not let the customer know price they are actually paying for an item, rather a critical piece of information I'm sure you will agree. The workaround, as you have mentioned, will only give the customer a representaion of the running total for the items that they have purchased.

    Thanks
