.after hard drive crashes current data has been lost after upgrading from reckon accounts 2013 to reckon accounts 2014.my company was in a folder on an external hard drive yet when working on it,it came up as a normal looking folder without any icon and never had problems with it.i have managed to find a later version of data from my accountant but is formatted the same way,the file does contain reckon stuff,so i am wondering how to convert this data so i can restore it.cheers

    Hi John,

On some computers if you hover your mouse/curser over a Reckon Accounts/QKBs file a little pop up window comes up & gives you some details about it... if you hover over a Reckon company file it should tell you what version of Reckon it was last opened with... you will have to have at least that version installed again to be able to open it.

If you install RA2014 and find your company file, (and it is still a RA2013 version) you should be able to open it will RA2014 but you will be asked if you want to upgrade it....

Personally I have never done a upgrade this way but it should work... maybe someone else can mention their experience with this.

    Cheers
