how to move unbilled costs onto new file

I have a new QB file but need to put some unbilled costs by job onto the new file.  They were created in Suppliers/Items and have been paid in the old file.  I have tried: creating an invoice and then deleting it, and also creating an invoice and then a credit note.  Neither works.  Any suggestions as to how to get these onto the new file without having an Unpaid Supplier Invoice hanging around?

Thank you for your post in our community.

Unfortunately, transactions don't transfer over to another file. You'd have to create an invoice from the bill and then create a credit to pay it off or do the exact steps taken in the last file so they both match up.
