Reckon Accounts Plus 2014-

I took a backup of the system on the 29/6/17 morning. When I logged into the system on the 1/7/17, it would not open and wanted me to either open a new company file or restore from a backup. i had to restore from my backup but lost data for the 30/6/17 as well as some of from the 29th. Does this ,mean I need to update to 2017 version or can I continue with what I have with some updates to ensure this problem does not happen again?

I get a script error when I go into File- Update Reckon Accounts. See image below. Help needed!
