I cannot move a list element from the Chart of Accounts

I created a new account name and of course the latest name created would appear on the top most list however, I would like to move the new account so that my chart of account will be in alphabetical order but it does not allow me to do it. A message: "You cannot move a list element unless the list is in its original order. Click the lists diamond column header to return the list to its original order".

This just happened recently but previously, I was able to move the new account name..

Please help.

Thanks,

Liza

Hi Liza - what happened when you clicked the diamond?  Were you then able to resort the list?  as soon as you sort a list by clicking on a column heading - the diamond will appear - its there to easily allow you to go back to the original sorting of the list...

    Hi Carrie

Click on the diamond next to the specific subaccount you want to move rather than the header account.

From the Account List, consider editing the Account.

Then tick the "Subaccount of" check box and from the drop-down list, select the account that you would like to be the 'parent/top level' account.
