    Hi there Justin,

    Welcome to the Reckon Community.

I found some information regarding AUSkey compatibility on certain browsers and operating systems here -
    https://abr.gov.au/AUSkey/Help-and-support/Setting-up-AUSkey-troubleshooting/AUSkey-compatibility/

Does everything look ok from the info above?

It might be worth having a chat to your IT professional also to ensure your operating environment is ok in regard to meeting the AUSkey requirements such as Java etc.

Let us know how you get on

    Spot on, Rav.

Yes, Java updates come thick and furious.  IE:  there are necessary updates of the JAVA program needed for the operating system, and AUSKEY usage depends on that environment matter to be addressed.   Just be sure to pick the right version (32bit/64bit) to suit your operating system (year, version and 32bit/64bit).

Another example where ENVIRONMENT is the important thing to consider when dealing with warning messages like this.

Thank you Rav and Gary. I can access the AusKey through IE with no issue. However, I have tried to lodge the BAS via Reckon Hosted and it takes me to the Auskey except that the Auskey says it needs Java to be installed!

    Justin.

SO, I take it you've used the IAS report and got through to the point where you click on "Continue through PORTAL"   which then takes you to this page:

    image

NOTE:  Clicking CANCEL is of no value, because it will eventually bring you back to this point, despite leaving the message and going to the PORTAL login page.  Half-sizing the Windows Explorer Page permits all this to be seen whilst still seeing the IAS template in the background.

Clicking on the Verify JAVA hyperlink takes you to this page:

But as shown, this cannot sort out a SERVER based environment.

Being the HOSTED ENVIRONMENT,  this is surely a HOSTED server setup to sort out on the RAH site by the Reckon DEV team, as I see it.

    Gary?

Justin.  Nice prompt response jst now, offline for you:

[extract from communiction:.....]     You are right about the asking to install Java is on the server lvl, to make the portal work, java do require constant update.

However. please note in order for portal to work on the server it requires additional installation and other support software also. This post a fairly high risk to the hosted system. The development team decide to only allow the Govconnect and not allow the portal to work on the hosted system so it it’s a design lvl decision to left the portal none operational.

Sorry to advice there is no work around to this.

Justin.  You might also note, there is other AUSKEY discussion brewing presently, given that company 'BOOKS' can be shared and to NON_AUSkey holders, and the basis of security/legality of AUSkeys being held in the Cloud.   There are other articles about this matter.

My experience is that that IAS document gets prepared and saved as  PDF,  but the process of dealing through the ATO Portal is done back on the desktop Chrome Browser session linked locally with the storage of the AUSkeys on the local PC.

    Hi guys,

Justin, just need to clarify. Can you let me know which method you're using to lodge your BAS through Hosted? Are you using the ATO Business Portal option?

BAS lodgements through Hosted need to be made via the SBR (GovConnect) option.
In the BAS, click on Config > BAS Lodgement > Select SBR via Gov Connect

There is some additional information in relation to this lodgement method here - http://kb.reckon.com.au/issue_view.asp?ID=4378
