I have error{-6010,-100) while trying to open

backed up yesterday fine (2017) for tax. tried to open today and have error code {-6010,-100) now what?

Hi Kerry,

Check out this KB in regard to that error message and see if it helps out in your situation -

Error -6010, 100 or -6010, 0: Your QuickBooks installation may have been modified. Try re-installing QuickBooks and then try again.

This has just started happening to me in the last 2 days. If I completely disable the firewall in Avast Business Antivirus the problem disappears. Have previously setup firewall exceptions for  
          FileManagement.exe  
          QBDBMgr.exe  
          QBDBMgrN.exe 
          QBGDSPlugin.exe 
          QBW32.exe 
and everything was working ok until a few days ago

Hi Trevor,
Have there been any updates to Avast between the time it last worked and now that may have possibly created a conflict or reset the exceptions?

Not that I'm aware of. I currently have a support ticket lodged with Avast and working through the process to identify the exact cause.

The problem seems to have been resolved by reapplying the exceptions and rebooting the PC
