Inactive customers

I have just started at a new company and they have hundreds of customers who need to be made inactive. Is there a quick way?

    HI Peanut.  It depends on what you mean by quick.  The quickest way that I know of is to set your Customer View to All Customers, then progressively go down the list, find each inactive customer and click to the left of the name.  This will place an "X" against their name to make them inactive.  Then set your Customer View to Active Customers, or whatever other view you might want.

    Yes there is. Export the list of customers, using excel open the file, split the window so you can see the customer name on the left and the hidden (Y = inactive) column on the right. Using 2 keys Y & down arrow work your way down the list. You can save it as an excel workbook if you intend to modify this over a couple of days and when your ready save it as a Tab Delimited file, you can then use the IIF file format to import.  Be safe and do a backup prior to importing.
