incorrect hours available date on employee leave

We have just imported an IIF file of our employees onto a new quickbooks data file.
The hours available date in each employees leave details, is coming up as their hire date, not the current date.

We have already gone into preferences and changed the date to August 1st instead of hire date, but it doesn't seem to have done anything!

How can this be fixed?

    Hi Amy,

    Even though it has their employment start date at the moment, it is still counted as their current leave available to date (as of now). Once you pay your employees that date will change to the date of the pay.  Each time you pay your employees that date will change to the date of that pay.
