Hi Vincent
This is an interesting and common question, so I have set out some processes and alternatives on my website help pages. I hope you find it an interesting and useful post.

Graeme how do I adjust inventory quantities in bulk? I have six thousand items and I need to update them for stock take.

Hi Kevin.
I can do this with a spreadsheet containing the item in one field and the stock count in another.
My preference is for the item to be the reckon item full name ("Doors:2 Panel Door"), but I can often reverse engineer this in excel from either the item name without the "sunbitem of" detail ("2 Panel Door") or the Manufacturers Part Number (MPN) or the Barcode - as long as its a unique match for the reckon full name..
From this data, I compare the count with the stock on hand at 30/6/18, and from this I create an iif file to record the stock adjustment in Reckon.
The process takes me between 5 and 8 hours depending on complexity, but has the advantage of being accurate and fast.

Do you have the record layout? I don't have any existing stock quantities. It's the initial uptake so it should be fairly simple.

Hi Ashok.
Surprisingly difficult to achieve. I did a Custom Transaction Detail Report and filtered for Transaction Type = Inventory Adjustment. Also added Qty, Item & Item Description to Display Columns.
