Is there a way to make an estimate number appear on an invoice that is created from that estimate?

Is there a way that you can get an estimate number to appear on an invoice that has been created from that estimate? It seems pretty silly that they dont already appear or show in the background how they are linked.
I dont want to have to go back and manually add them

    Try the following:

    1) Open a Create Estimates screen
    2) Click on the Customise button then Additional Customisation...
    3) In the Header tab click on the Screen and Print check boxes for the Other field
    4) Change the title of the Other field to "Estimate #"

You will need to use the Layout Designer to move the Other field on your customised estimate template.

Repeat the same process for the invoice template

    5) Open a Create Invoices screen
    2) Click on the Customise button then Additional Customisation...
    3) In the Header tab click on the Screen and Print check boxes for the Other field
    4) Change the title of the Other field to "Estimate #"

You will need to use the Layout Designer to move the Other field on your customised invoice template.

Now when creating a new estimate, you can enter your preferred Estimate number in the newly visible Estimate # field.

I have another suggestion - when you are in the Estimate Screen - choose the button for Create Invoice - but select the down arrow and choose Create Sales Order... this will copy over the data and put the estimate number in the memo field down the bottom - you can then select Create Invoice from here and the Estimate number will stay in the memo area at the bottom and the Sales Order No will also go in the S.O.# field if you have this in your template... no need to remember and key in any numbers :)
