item list full so cant use software anymore

Our business is using Reckon account premier 2018.  I've gone to add and item and I've just had a message saying we've reached 14500 items in the list which is the maximum.  All items are associated with transactions, so cannot be deleted.  Customer support response was - sorry -cant do anything - you have to pay $4600 to upgrade your software.  Has anyone else come across this problem, and is there a work-around?  I cant believe that this is the end.

Hi Kerrie,

The are limits to lists in Accounts Business. A breakdown of that can be found here -
Limits in Reckon Accounts Business series (2008/09 and later)

You can't delete items you have used in the past and no longer require, as these contain important information for your file.

You have two options:
  1. Start a new company file and enter only your active items;
  2. Upgrade to Enterprise (or Reckon Accounts Hosted) where the list limits are generally expanded, and in the case of Items, we've tested it to 1,000,000.

Hi i have Reckon Accounts Hosted and it says I have reached the limit of 10000 classes, you mention above it has been tested to a million and was wanting to know why it wont let me add more if that is the case. Would you know what I need to do to increase the classes? I have been trying to get on to your help line since last Tuesday to get a fix for this issue without any success,the phones are not answered at all.
