lump sum A and witholding tax for ETP not included in STP file

Hi when i 'finalise year' for STP lump sum A isn't included for 2 employees, and pay withholdings for an ETP isn't included? I inherited payroll when someone left and i've just been using existing payroll items or copying existing ones if I've had to create a new one. Can someone help please, i'm desperate.

    Hi Sue

     

    This will be due to incorrect mapping in the “Tax Tracking Type” section of the Payroll Item setup.

    This determines where & how the payment is categorised/shown in STP & on the Income Statement (previously “PAYG Payment Summary” / “Group Certificate”)

     

    Double click on the relevant Payroll Item(s) & click Next through the windows until you get to “Tax Tracking Type” & check which label it has been mapped to from the dropdown list.

     

    NB: Lump Sums obviously need to be linked to the corresponding Lump Sum label.

    ETP Items need to be mapped to the applicable “Pre …” or “Post …” categories (these are at the bottom of the dropdown list)

    Hi Shaz, thanks for comming back to me. I've checked the payroll item setup for both lump sum A, and ETP against payroll items in our other Co. file (set up by the previous employee) they're setup identically. Tax tracking is identical 'post 1983 untaxed element low rate threshold (O) for the pay in lieu of notice, 'lump sum A (T) for AL payout on termination.
    Payment summaries for both employees show the correct amounts, INB show lump sum A (T) amounts, and ETP shows the tax withheld amount.
    I took a print of the 'details' page before i submitted the STP file, that's where the information is missing
    However, today, i've opened the .json STP file itself, and checked the information, it's all there.
    The ETP tax is there under   "ETPPayments": [  {   "ETPCode": "O",
    "ETPPAYGAmount": 1723.00'
    The lump sum A (T) amounts are there for the 2 employees, under   "LumpSumPayments": {
    "LumpSumA": 6664.30,   "LumpSumAType": "T",   
    "LumpSumA": 7756.77,   "LumpSumAType": "T",. 
    So ? there's an issue between the actual .jason file information and the 'details' ie summary information.
    And, to make things worse, when i tried to do another STP file today i got the following message
    'warning: potential security risk ahead
    firefox detected an issue and did not continue to stp.reckon.com. the website is either misconfigured or your computer clock is set to the wrong time.
    It's likely the website's certificate is expired, which prevents Firefox from connecting securely. If you visit this site, attacker coule try to steal information like your passwords, email, or credit card details'
    It says to notifiy the websites administrator about the problem.
    I really need to re-lodge the finalised payroll file for 19/20. But i'm not prepared to submit the file when information is missing in the details, even though it's in the .jason file, and especially not if there's a security risk going into the website.
    I don't know what to do?

    Hi Sue


    It sounds like the STP files are fine – I think it may just be a limitation in what is actually shown/displayed in GovConnect.  To confirm this, are you able to contact the 2 employees & get them to check their myGov record & determine whether these termination amounts are displaying there?

    The warning message you’re getting sounds like an IT/security settings issue.


      1. Check your PC clock time display as per the message. 

        If this is indeed incorrect, change it.  (How to do that will vary depending on what OS you’re using eg Windows 7 v 10 etc)


          2. Add Reckon’s Portal (GovConnect) website address to the “Trusted Sites” in Internet Options.


              3. Try using a different browser (eg Google Chrome) to access GovConnect


                  4. Are you using a Favourites/bookmarked link for GovConnect?  Try searching for & accessing GovConnect from a search instead then re-bookmark/favourite that page.

                    Hi Shaz, thanks for coming back to me. Per your advice, I've just emailed the 2 ex employees and asked them to check their mygov accounts and let me know. If everything is there for them, who do i get in touch with to ask about why the information isn't showing correctly? Could you let me know. but if both or either of them are missing information, do i come back to you guys?
                    Re the warning, my clock is set at the right time, i think it might be the bookmark as you mention, i'll delete it and see if i get the message again, if so i'll try your other advice. Thanks, i really appreciate your help. Sue

                    As mentioned previously, I think the limitation may be just a GovConnect thing (not specifically, you)

                    However, if the ex-employees confirm the info is actually missing however, I’d recommend getting some 1-on-1 assistance onsite.

                    Hi Shaz, thanks for the info, if they come back and say their informaiton is missing i'll see if i can find someone to come out and see what's happening. Our office is in Castle Hill NSW. Got fingers and toes crossed they both come back saying it's all there, in which case i'll find contact details for govconnect and get on to them to let them know what's happened and hopefully they'll get it sorted out.
