My Home & Business was updated to 2020 last week. I now find the emailing of invoices does not work. The email fails to connect

The core underlying R H&B has not been updated for more than 10 years, meanwhile Mail APIs have been evolving - it's probably broken and not likely to be fixed. Double check you default mail app is specified (windows, settings, apps, default apps) and that it is running in the background. 

If it still does not work - you will have to work around it by Printing to "Windows Print to PDF" print the file, then pick it up in your mail program to send it out.

Yes that's what I've had to do for a few years now.  It's a bit rude that they charge you more and more each year for updates or upgrades when nothing is actually updated or upgraded other than the tax tables from the ATO.
