'Old file does not exist. Unable to apply patch. Program not updated.'

Hi all,

We are currently updating our system from Reckon Accounts 2018 to 2019. 2x computers have been successfully updated following the prompts but having issues installing the third. The issues comes when trying to install the Reckon Accounts 2019 tax update. We have followed all tips and advice including restarting the computer, opening task manager and closing all running applications. The install process starts, reaches 12% and then says 'Old file does not exist. Unable to apply patch. Program not updated.'

Any help to fix this issue will be greatly appreciated.

    when you installed 2019 R1 on the third computer - did you make sure you opened a file, can be just the sample file - and activated it?  the Patch wont install unless its activated?  Now that you have tried the update and it didnt work - you need to repair the installation on that machine by going to Control Panel, Programs & Features - click Reckon 2019 and choose to repair... then open 2019 and activate.. then restart, do NOT open 2019, now try the tax update again.
