We are looking at purchasing Reckon Accounts Hosted and have a few questions. It appears that an employee has the ability to select their own payroll item i.e "Salary" when doing timesheets, im concerned they could select Overtime when they have not worked 40 hours? Also we have an RDO system for that means the staff only get paid for 38 hours when they have worked 40 hours. How can the staff have 40 hours at the timesheet stage but have this reduced to 38 hours at the payroll stage?

    Hi Henry

First I am presuming you are having the employees enter their times remotely straight into Reckon Accounts hosted, with their own login.  If this is the case you can always monitor the times and correct the time sheets before you pay.

Or you could have the employees email you their times then fill out their times yourself, again making sure they are accurate.

As for the accounting side and set up, there are many professional and accredited partners like myself ready and waiting to assist for a fee, if you need assistance with setup, after all this is what we have spent a lot of time training in and why we run our businesses, to help in this field.

Advice on the product is always free so call me if you like to discuss how you need Reckon Hosted to work with your business.  0429305300

Hi Henry, if you don't want the employees to be able to enter overtime don't have that as a payroll item on their employee record. Also for the RDO extra 2 hours per week I would have a payroll item for RDO and put -2 hours each week to that as an other leave type. When they take the RDO you can simply debit the payroll item for RDO and it will bring back to nil. Hope this helps. Let me know if you need any more info. cheers, kathy
