I am running Accounts Premier Desktop (2019), and I have 1 employee who is claiming TFT+HELP+SFSS. PAYG is deducting more Tax than what the ATO pay calculator states it should be (like, $50 more per weekly pay period). I have removed everything except his base salary, and it is still doing the same (ruling out an incorrect setting in a pay category). I have checked the Super category, and PAYG is not ticked. I have also run the calculation on MYOB (I have switched to Reckon due to STP reporting) and MYOB payroll matches the ATO. Both my old MYOB program and Reckon Premier have the latest payroll updates installed. Every other employee is calculating their PAYG correctly. I'm stumped!

Hi Nikky.  Have you checked the employee's record in the tax area to see whether it has been setup to take out more tax than the tax scale?

Hi John - yes I have, there are no additional amounts set to be taken out. Just the TFT, HELP and SFSS.

Hi Nikky - when you have Reckon open - press Ctrl+1 on the keyboard - does this show you are running R2 - this will confirm if you have applied the tax update for 1.7.19

Aha!  The version is: V28.0D R1 24/06/19 (which was the date we installed it). I am assuming this means it's the wrong version? Although when I looked for an update (via the email sent on 25/06/19) it said I was up to date (possibly because I'd only installed the program the previous day).  I will go and have another look. Thank you :-)

Great news, Nikky.  There had to be some good reason for the discrepancy and for Linda latching on to the installed version.
