My employees payment summary notes a different total tax withheld to my Payroll Summary report for 19/20. can yo confirm why this may have occurred?

    Check that both lots of reports are the same date - 'Pay End Date' OR 'Date Paid'. If your payroll year goes over the cut off date, either at the beginning or the end, this will make a difference to your reports.

    all dates are for the same 1/07/2019-30/06/2020

    Okay. I use Payroll Premier and in the 'lists' there is 'Preference - Printing' that I click on. A window comes up with 'Date Paid' or 'Pay End Date'. That always governs the results. But if you have done that then I have no other solutions.

    can you make an adjustment so it reflects the right amount on a payment summary?

    I have never had to do that so I can't answer. I always go to the print date and that always clears the mirk.
