Payroll Premier will not change to "Date Paid" in preferences

I have changed to "Date Paid" in preferences (File/Preferences/Printing) for STP purposes but the program keeps defaulting back to Pay End Date.

Is there any way of making this a permanent change rather than being prompted by the program to do the temporary change every time the payroll is processed?

    Hi Mark,
It has been my experience that no you can't change it permanently, it defaults back every time you close the program. In fact it appears that even when it prompts you to "change to date paid" for the STP report, once that is exported, it has already defaulted back to "pay end date".
I would like to know how to turn off the "did the report print correctly" window which appears every time you print despite having unticked the box and answered "yes" to "do you want to disable this message"

Unfortunately not just yet Mark, but we'll be looking at making a change to enable this in future.

    Hi Rav,

Thanks for the info on this. Would be really great if this is enabled in the future. It takes our system 10 minutes to change between Date Paid and Pay End Date. Is this normal? Can we do anything to speed it up? We've been using the Payroll software for over 10 years so probably lots of data is causing the issue. Do we have any options?

    Hey Michael,
You're exactly right, if the change to date paid is taking a significant amount of time it might be worth archiving some data or starting a new file for the new financial year.

In Payroll Premier, this is found in File > Archive Data and enter the dates of the data you wish to archive. It creates a Payroll backup file with the archived data in it which you can refer to separately if you need. Obviously, you'll need to think and apply it to your individual circumstances and see if it works for you.

    Hi Rav,

Hoping you can help me with this one:

When I try and do a report for leave accrued or leave taken, comes up with a message to say Error - No Records found.

    Hi Rav,
I have followed the procedure to archive several years worth of data in Payroll Premier and it appears to have worked and a backup file has been created but when you go back into pays and ask to show employee pays they are all still there. Is there another step in the process?
    Thanks

Hi Rav. I presume 12 months later  is the future and the error in date paid and pay date is still there. Such a glaring anomaly should have been fixed by now

Yes - this causes problems when the date paid and pay date are in different quarters, esp now with STP reporting.  Fixing this should be a priority.
