Payroll wont let me edit an active employees details or change a payrate in Raises

Hi Guys,
I am using Premier and trying to  increase pay rates for my employees.  I have been able to update all of them except for 3 and I get same result for all of them - when I try to edit the employee info - Reckon wont let me save any changes and advises me that I cant merge employees with  payroll transactions.

And when I try to put the pay increase in using Raises and Promotions, it tells me even though I am entering todays date - that the date I have selected is in the past, or just goes - illegal operation.

please help

Hi Maggie,

Welcome to the Reckon Community.

This is very odd behaviour as the first error message does not make any sense with the action you are undertaking.

I suggest you resort your Names List, Payroll Item list and Chart of Accounts.  

To re-sort the Names List:Select the Banking menu and select Write Cheques.
  1. Place the cursor in the Pay to the Order of field.
  2. Press Ctrl+L on your keyboard to open the Name List.
  3. Click the Name button > Re-sort List.
  4. Click OK to the message, "Are you sure you want to return this list to its original order?"
  5. Close this window.
  6. Select the Lists menu and select Other Names List.  If there are items here click on View and select Re-sort List.
Next, re-sort the Payroll Item List and the Chart of Accounts.

Now try again.  

If the problem persists, rebuild your file (File > Utilities >Rebuild) then Verify your file.  Follow up on any errors found.

When using any functions in the Employee organiser, its best to entre from the mainmenu - Employees > Employee Organiser, rather than from any buttons inside the Employee record.
