I receive an error message in Personal plus 2017 when trying to open or restore a file which I accessed recently

What is the error message you're receiving Rob?

How are you attempting to open this file when you encounter the problem?

Having been presented with the screen and selecting "I am a current user", I click the box to open a file on this computer.
Having located the  file, I get the message ,"cannot open the file" I have  also tried to open backup files with the same result.
Should I uninstall the program then reinstall perhaps ?

Everything now works  following  the  2 actions  below:

1.  I downloaded , installed and ran the latest Ccleaner program.

2 I disabled the following file in the startup folder:

 HKCU:Run QuickenScheduledUpdates Intuit Inc. C:\Program Files (x86)\Reckon Accounts Personal\bagent.exe
Perhaps this might help someone else.
