I've updated to Accounts Premier 2020 and get the following error message each time I want to print or email:

"The file you specified cannot be opened.  Make sure that it is not currently being used by another program or a read-only file.
The Windows error was "the file exists".
File: C:\ProgramData\Intuit|Reckon Accounts 2020\QBPRINT.QBP"

Looking for how to fix this issue please.

Hi Jo,
We've got a help article on this particular error message which outlines how to solve it, I'll link it below -

Warning: The file you specified cannot be opened. The Windows error is: The file exists.

I've tried deleting and renaming but neither has worked. Should I be deleting the ini file as well?  Could there be another QBprint file somewhere?

This didn't work for me.  Rav I had to uninstall all other Quickbooks files and update the registry.  You had another post that had a step by step how to do this. Could you post again.

Hi Rav
Thanks for your reply.
I've followed your instructions and changed the read only option but I'm still having the problem.  I've tried a few times, including shutting down after making the required change.  Each time I go back in and check the read only box is still ticked.  It's as if my changes are not saving for some reason.

Are you able to suggest anything else I could try?

Hi Jo,
I had the same problem and ended up renaming the qbprint.qbp file to "old"... ie. qbprintold.qbp.
then when I reopened Reckon and went to print it recreated a new qbprint.qbp file and I've had no issues since.

Hi Robyn

Thanks, I'll give it a try.  Where do I find the qbp file please?

Thanks Robyn,
I've located the qbp file and renamed it as you suggested.
It's all working perfectly now.
Thank you.

Hi Sonja. I had same problem. Follow the path to the file, change it to qbprintold.qbp.
Then go & print again & it works.

Sorry Sonja, I wouldn't know... I can only refer you to the link that Rav posted above.

That link is really old.
I think the new problem is not the read-only attribute

That's what I use too so not sure why renaming the file has not worked for you.  The only other thing I would try (if you haven't already) would be to do a re-start after renaming the file.  That's what I did.  Good luck.
