Hi, Reckon (Account Premier 2019) is not letting me generate Remittance Advices or Payslips to email.  It gives an error massage "Printer not activated, error code 30".

I know this seems to be a recurring issue for people - I have seen the other posts and I have tried the previously suggested fixes - but it is still not working for me.

Printing reports to pdf or hard copy is all fine.  It's just these email attachments.

I have removed and re-installed our pdf printer (Nitro Pro).  This was recently updated and at around the same time the system ran some Microsoft updates - so I'm not sure which has caused the problem.

Our external IT support has checked all the settings and from what they can tell it is fine. So they have suggested I come back here for specific Reckon Support.

Any ideas please??

Hi Reb, just to check the error code.

Your topic title states "error code 31".
The problem description you indicated states the error code is 30.

Have tested whether other documents such as invoices can be emailed?

When was the last time you successfully emailed the payslip or remittance advice documents?

Which posts have you tried to follow the suggested fixes for?

Have you tried the solution in the article below?

Sorry - yes the message is "Activation Error: Printer not activated, error code -30"

No, I can't email any other documents.

The last time anything was sent out was Thursday 6th Feb - my system was then automatically updated on Friday 7th.

Yes I read that post and tried removing the printer, but it hasn't helped.

There is another printer showing on my system as " Reckon Accounts V5 PDF Converter".  In the About section, I can see that this is "Licensed to Reckon" - but this is not available from within Reckon under the "Printer Set Up".

In that article, another user indicated that they solved the issue.

"Just to let anyone who has this problem know I have found a solution.

It is pretty simple as well and surprising that no forum post I have read even mentions this...

    - Remove the printer from the computer (through System Settings / Printers & Scanners)
    - Open Reckon and go to email an invoice / form etc.
    - Reckon will automatically install the required printer"

    Did you try that?

If not, then give it a go by following this knowledgebase article.

Ok great thanks.  I did try to remove the Nitro pdf printer - but not all the other drivers.  I'll try that now.  Thanks..
