problems creating EmpDupe file

We have had to produce 12 x amended payment summaries.  Have completed this process ok but when I try to create the electronic file, it doesn't default to ËmpDupe as the file name or Excel as the default file type, the process finishes very quickly, and I don't believe any records are written.  When I try to open the file, I'm asked what application I want to use to open it.

This is obviously a second file we are trying to create to send to the ATO for amendments and is time critical.

    the file type is not excel for empdupe, its just a plain text file you can open with notepad... so dont double click it - right click it and select Edit... then choose Notepad for opening if you want to check whats in there.. you can call it what you like really - but it will need to be sent to the ATO via File transfer in your portal (or your accountant/BAS agents portal)..
