profit and loss by rep

I'm sure I have asked the question before, but why can't you get a profit and loss report by rep.? I was advised that "most" companies are only concerned with sales by rep. However, what is the point if those sales always end in a loss.  It would be very handy to have this report availab.e

    Because we use classes for categories: domestic, commercial, service, projects

    What if I set up classes such as:
    Commercial WLC
    Commercial KR

    This would then work surely?
