Program freezing between entries

Continually having to press 'tab' to wake it up and move on to next entry???? Even when closing off an invoice (for example) and going back to home page; I have to press 'tab' for it to action. Then, too often, it will drop out and then I'll have to log back in. I have done the internet speed test, and apparently my internet is above average.

So slow today, I just walked away from it and did something else for awhile. Performance has a lot to be desired.

Hi Colleen,

We are currently looking at screen re-draw for some users whereby the screen does not refresh as expected until another screen action is taken, such as a mouse click or pressing a keyboard key.

This may not be your issue, however we hope to roll this update out very soon which will be announced on the community forum. It would be great if you, Tiffany and Steve got back to us after this update to see if it was indeed the issue effecting you.

If not we can run some other tests as internet speed does not always tell the entire story.

Regards,
Jason Hollis

Hi Jason,

I will keep an eye on this. I know my internet speed is fine, however, I do find I do need to click elsewhere fairly regularly to force s screen refresh, however, other times, however, it is just slow and poor performance. (Steve)

Cheers Steve - definitely sounds like the redraw issue. Please get back in touch when we roll it out (looking at early Jan) and then we can address any additional performance issues as it will rule out screen refresh.

Talk soon,
Jason

Re this 'freezing'; any chance it will have to do with the fact that I am using a satellite connection?
Anyone else with this issue using a satellite?

Hi Colleen,

Satellite is generally a poorer speed than fixed line and 4G, but you would need to run some speed tests to be sure.

Please see a guide on the forum here on how to do this.

The re-draw fix will be rolled out this month and depending on your speed results could see the improvement you require, but if your speed is very poor than I would recommend returning to desktop.

Regards,
Jason

When is re-draw likely to be rolled out. It is mid January now. I do not have satellite and my speed says above average. I use up to date chrome browser and don't have any freezing between any other programs except hosted.

Hey APEC & Josnna, how often do you restart your Router? One Community member had all kinds of trouble until she tried restarting the Router. - https://community.reckon.com.au/recko...

There are other variables which can also be considered. With regards to latency, location is not the only variable, I live across the road from my exchange, but the settings applied to my line by Telstra were set up for speed which caused issues with the latency/ping. Once they de-throttled my connection by about 10% (still on 18-20Mbps) and increased the reliability (decreased latency) everything runs smoother, from YouTube videos to online gaming (which is very resource hungry).

The link above to Deanne's post links you to a best practices guide which might be useful.

In saying all this our development team is always looking at ways to improve the Hosted experience and your feedback will be passed on accordingly.
