Project Module "Estimated Project Position" not functioning.

I am using the trial version of Reckon One with a view to possibly transferring from Reckon Accounts to it, or if it does not do what I want to go to Xero instead.

I cannot get the "Estimated Project Position" in the Project module to show any results even though I have input many bills and Invoices against a Project I have set up.  I am not sure if A) I am misunderstanding how it works, B) if the trial version does not have this functionality or C) if there is an error occurring for me only?  Can anyone give me a lead on what I need to do to make it work?

In reality I wanted the Buying Module (expense purchases - materials bought to use in a project) and invoices with labour and materials expenses to be allocated to a Project so profitability of a project can be tracked, but the Buying module does not allow you to allocate an expense to a client so the only choice seems to be to use Projects but as stated above it does not seem to be working either.

Any hints on how to get it working or whether it just plain does not work would be great.

    Thanks Andrew,

Yes, I have trialled Reckon One, QuickBooks Online, Looked at MYOB and Xero and decided that Xero is too expensive for the options I need, QuickBooks Online is very interesting but it is missing Timesheets as is MYOB.  Reckon is well priced but I am yet to confirm I can get the Project Module to work and Timesheets is a bit clunky.  So the jury is well and truly out.  I need to decide because my current subscription for Reckon Accounts runs out in 2 days.  I think I have left it too late as the migration of data is unlikely to happen before the subscription runs out.

In the mean time I still need to know if the Project module works or not?

Love to chat to you offline looks like you have done all the checking on existing software and like you agree , agree no application will provide you exactly what you want . Will never happen. We have Time sheet app that integrates with Reckon Desktop you should look into Love to do a demo for you But may be the cost is an issue for you No harm in talking to me but off the forum

    Hi Bruce,

    Regarding your question

"I cannot get the "Estimated Project Position" in the Project module to show any results even though I have input many bills and Invoices against a Project I have set up. Can anyone give me a lead on what I need to do to make it work?"

I'm fairly confident that your report settings will be configured to cash basis & this is why you aren't seeing any 'open' invoice or bill amounts. If you want to see 'open' invoice & bill amounts here you'd need to report on accrual basis.

To access the report settings in Reckon One...
    1. Click the Administration menu (i.e. the cog icon in the top right of screen)
    2. Select General settings
    3. Select Report settings

    G'day Bruce
Beg to differ about timesheets in QuickBooks online. I'm trialling them now.

    Hi Bruce,

I've just responded to your email,

Also, is your Projects module now working correctly after the suggestion from Qwerty above?

    Hi Rav,

Sorry, I just saw your post.  I have had my head down and tail up with my business and did not see your post until now.

Yes.  The project module "Estimated Project Position" showed results the next day.  Not sure why it did not show it live as I added information.
