We bought new barcode scanner for retail point of sale lite 2009/10 but it doesnt scan the bar code and says Retail point of sale was unable to find any held transaction...stressed

Hey Puru, The reason this is happening is because your barcode scanner has not yet been programmed to work with point of sale. Contact the manufacture of the scanner and tell them that you need a "Tilda" prefix and a "carriage return" suffix. When you test scanning in an item 3 time in windows notepad the correct result should look similar to this ~9341600000009 ~9341600000009 ~9341600000009 If the number doesn't have the "~" attached at the front then pos won't recognise it as a item barcode.0

Ps: if it's a barcode scanner provided by reckon then the programming info will be in the bright yellow book called "important information", usually around page 350
