Quickbooks Premier 2012/2013 crashing when trying to open memorised transaction list

QuickBooks is crashing with "Unrecoverable Error" when we try to access Lists -> Memorised Transaction List.

I guess there might be a problematic transaction, is there another way we can access the Memorised Transactions to check them?

Sometimes a computer restart will fix things or verify and rebuild data might also work

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately a reboot did not fix the issue. I tried a rebuild and it completed but the error still occurs. If I try to Verify, it tells me to run rebuild again.

When was your last backup and can you restore that on another computer to see if the backup has the same issue

My most recent backup that does not have the problem is from 22 October. I guess the quickest way for me to get back up and running is to restore the backup and re-enter everything from the 23rd and 24th. Please do let me know if you know of any way to make this easier (eg. some way to copy selected data from the corrupted file to the backup). Thanks.

Just re-enter, it's a pain I know but I would be reticent in taking over anything from a corrupted file

Just be careful with those Memtx, it says that there is one with no name, whether that's the problem or not who knows. It doesn't hurt to refresh the Memtx, open it up, re memorise and then not record.

Hmm.. management here have decided to take a different tack, they want to upgrade to the latest version of the software and ask technical support to repair the file! Do you see any problem with this course of action?

That's a good idea; when you upgrade you can go to a yearly subscription, this will give you the upgrades each year and also the tax tables for each year because your 2012-13 still has the tax tables from then.
