I have a very old quickbooks pro 2000 that I use primarily for invoicing . i use it on an old XP OS. I had to format that PC the other day, and cannot find my license to load my quickbooks program back onto the PC. Is there a generic license and password I could use for such an old program. I wish to keep using it.

Jonny.

Just call Reckon 'registrations' and advise them your 7 digit  client ID,  and they may find your original installation KEY to load the program up again.   It used to appear on the top right corner of all correspondence/invoices from Reckon.  Granted, you're dealing with 17 years ago, but if you keep old contracts like that, you may locate iit quickly.   I'm not aware of any generic code other than DEMO codes that only lasted a few sessions/logins, and not an appropriate course of action.

Hi Gary. No luck , I'm afraid. Called back about 4 times to different assistants, and all tell me that my License Key is what is in reality my Registration No.  I have a Serial No, but none of these are of any use when trying to reinstall Quickbooks V7.4, as the first stage is the License Key.
All the assistants I spoke with only had the two numbers that I already have, and unfortunately there is no support or downloads from Reckon now for this old program.
If you can think of anything, would be much appreciated. Cheers . Jonny.

If you have your client number/password, then login to the members downloads area here

http://members.reckon.com/Login.aspx

Then go to download software (aka http://members.reckon.com/Subscription/DownloadSoftware.aspx)

Click on your product and go next to display your licence details.

Afterwards, you can do an online rego here to get the remaining details to make it active.

Thanks Andrew. Unfortunately, the sun has set on my product, and no support is provided. So when I get  to that download software page there is nothing listed to download. So I cannot get to the stage where I get my License Key.

This is even though my product Quickbooks Pro V7.4 is listed in my account section.

I keep hoping there may be a generic code that I can put in as License Key, as the assistance from Reckon cannot help.

Cheers. Jonny.

Thanks Andrew, but still no luck today. The registration help line maintains they do not have License Keys, and the other option is the support line at $4.90 per minute. I'm not really keen to go there, as I may get recorded music and then get cranky.

If anyone else has any ideas on a better contact at Reckon, I would love to hear from you. Cheers. Jonny.
Jonny.  Give me a call if you are in Australia, and I'll call you back from 0408994799 (VIC) to see where you're at

Hi Jonny,
It looks like you're using V7 version of QuickBooks.
If you still have the User Guide or Quickstart Guide, its a green sticker on the back of the book.
If you cant find either, please send an email to community@reckon.com and I'll email you back your Installation Key code.

Thanks
Ange
