Reckon Accounts Enterprise 2018- 10 users - Will a "clean up company data" increase speed?

We have over 10 years of data files -  I have previously inquired (2016 when before upgrading to Enterprise) if a clean up company data would be beneficial and was told this was not recommended by Reckon as too many customers were reporting issues.
What is the current recommendation to improve speed when using Reckon?
