In my account list, all of the accounts, except one, show the ending balance.
I must have set this account up incorrectly.
I cannot find where in settings to make the end balance appear.
See the screen shot below - see the missing balance circled in red.
I have also redacted other personal information in the screen shot for privacy - sorry it's a bit messy.

    Hi Lionel

    1. What type of account is this?

    2. If you right click on this list do you have 'show current balance' selected or 'ending balance selected?

    Account Type: Bank
    Right click selections
    • Show amounts selected
    • Show current balance in the bar
If I select "Show ending balance in the bar" - no change.

    Hi Once again
Does the account have a balance and what is the account currency?
Is it a new account or one that you have used prior to upgrading?

Does the account have a balance?: Yes, a positive balance
And what is the account currency?: Australian dollars
Is it a new account or one that you have used prior to upgrading?:  Not sure.  Definitely not new, but not sure if was setup before or after an upgrade.  If it helps, I tend to upgrade fairly soon / immediately after an upgrade is available.  Records indicate that the account was setup in July 2014.

    Hi Lionel
    Thanks for persevering with me.
When you follow the Menu path: 'Cash Flow > Cash Flow Accounts > Account List' Does the relevant account show any balances in the resultant 'Account List' pop-up window?

No, no - thank you for persevering with ME!
When I follow the path Cash Flow > Cash Flow Accounts > Account List I can see an Ending Balance, but not a Current Balance.  Due to the time difference, please forgive me if I do not respond to you immediately - I will be retiring for the night shortly.

    Ok ta.

Interesting that this account listing does show an ending balance in the pop-up window but when you set the account listing to 'ending balance' nothing shows??

Also that this account, which does have a balance, doesn't show a current balance in the pop-up window??

Do you have a 'savings goal' attached to this account? The reason I ask is that the savings goal dictates what is shown in these views.

I'm about to call it a night as well.

Following so far - Lionel have you tried a validate & super validate?

    File > Utilities > Validate

Second time hold down Ctrl & Shift when clicking validate & double clicking data file name to super validate.

    Regards, Robyn Kelly

Also have you tried turning the account balances off and then turn it back on?

Sorry - Xmas got in the way.  Please advise as to how I find out if I have a "savings goal" attached to this account.

Apologies - Xmas got in the way.I have seen this procedure (File > Utilities > Validate) mentioned somewhere before and from memory it looked a bit scary.  A bit more information what it does and reassurance that nothing can go wrong would be appreciated.

    Hi Lionel,

As a test, consider creating a new account of the same type (rename the existing by adding the suffix or prefix "OLD").
Then creating a transfer transaction and confirm that the balance appears.

If it appears then make the original account inactive.
