Reckon Accounts plus access problem

I have downloaded Reckon Accounts Plus 2017 desktop version from my client who is also using it on another laptop. I am trying to access the Reckon file she has shared in dropbox by saving the file to my desktop and accessing it from there. However I am unable to access the file as I keep getting an error message saying an error occurred trying to read the file. (If persists quote error -6150, -1006) Can anyone advise what might be causing the issue? Is it a licence issue? Thanks Bianca

I have encountered this myself. I believe Reckon does not allow access to data files from drop box it assumes the file has not been closed. I use dropbox purely as a FTP server & copy the file back & forth between C drive & dropbox. Hope this helps.

There's some further info in relation to that error message in this KB article -

Error -6150 , -1006: An error occurred when tried to create, open, or use the company file
