Hi,

I've recently installed ReckonAccounts 2015 Personal Plus. This is a fresh install on a new computer. I attempted to use my old data file in this version, but have been experiencing extremely frequent crashes, notably in the savings plan portion of the program, and more notably when navigating away from the savings plan, although the crashes have been happening in other places too.

Seeing this, I assumed that there was an issue with my data file, So I began the process of creating a new one. I created my accounts, and imported my banking transactions from EOFY on - now I am having the exact same issues with a brand new data file.

Can you please help with these crashes, surely there are others having this issue.

Have you tried installing Personal on another computer?

I havent tried 2015 on any other PC. Are there some incompatibilities that you know of?

I've had similar crashes in the past on previous versions of Personal, and on different PCs, but none of these were as frequent as I'm currently getting. There may be a way that I set up my pcs that the software has problems with. When the software crashes, it pretty much locks up the entire OS - Though I'm able to shut it down via task manager, everything else locks up while it's crashing.

OK, so through a bit of mad clicking and troubleshooting, the crashes seem to have ceased slightly when running as administrator. This solution had me put off because when I tried this it told me I needed to buy another license, though it has allowed me to re-activate my current one.

Hopefully my experience can help someone else in the future.

Pretty sure this is in the support notes on the knowledge base. I only ever install using the administrator account

I seem to be having a similar problem.
I have just installed Reckon Accounts 2015 Personal Plus and whenever I open a data file the program crashes with message " Reckon Accounts Launcher has stopped working".
I seem to recall a similar problem a couple of years ago and there was a workaround, but I don't recall it now.   Is any one able to assist??

Hey Donald, as per Kevin's post, try to run as Admin, this generally solves these issues.
TIP: Permanently run a program as an administrator
    • Navigate to the program folder of the program you want to run. ...
    • Right-click the program icon (the .exe file).
    • Choose Properties.
    • On the Compatibility tab, select the Run This Program As An Administrator option.
    • Click OK.
    • If you see a User Account Control prompt, accept it.

John one of the Admin's in the Community has also posted this great support note for installations: https://community.reckon.com.au/reckon/topics/installation_issues_with_accounts_personal_and_quicken...

    Hope this helps!

Thanks Mirko, I do run as administrator. The situation seems to have settled down now after a couple of reboots of the computer. It has not crashed for an hour or more now.... I hope I am not jinxing myself!! Best Regards Donald
