Sales by item report that include description

I would like to create a sales by item report for the last financial year that includes a column for description. We use the item field for the product code and description for the product description. The current sales by item report only allows for the item column. We have over 14000 products so without the product description the report is useless. Can anybody think of a work around?

Have you looked in the item list, reports, on all items. There are some choices in there you could try

    Hi Chris,

I think you can export the report to Excel, and also export your item list to excel. From there, you can do a VLookup to add one more column that would contain your item description in the final report.

Or this thread can help you too: https://community.reckon.com/reckon/topics/sales-by-item-summary-including-description

    Thanks,

Hi Kris, i did. I have looked through every option i could think of with no luck. Phuong Do (Below) gave me a work around and i have learnt something new in excel. VLOOKUP. I have never used it before but will be using it a lot more in the future.

Hi Phuong, Thanks. I saw that thread but it didn't have a solution, just someone with the same problem.

I used VLOOKUP, thank you so much, i never knew that formula existed. A quick google on how it works and my problem is solved.

    Have a great day.

    Hi Chris

Which report were you looking at?

When I run the “Sales by Item Detail” report, it has the Description column by default:
