SEARCH ON ITEM DESCRIPTION WHEN ENTERING FORMS

When entering quotes, sales orders, invoices and purchase orders, on any transaction entry line in the form, my staff need to search on any part of the description of the item to pull up items which contain the text entered in the search to find, select and enter in the form. I see the item code field can be used, but this is not always known. Is this type of search possible?

    Hi Alan,

    On these forms you would need to search by the item.  There is no function to search by the description sorry.

    Hello Shane. Thanks for your speedy response. My view is this would be a significant requirement for most businesses with several thousand items. I'd recommend this for the development list.

    There is one way to tackle this.    Have another WINDOW open with the ITEM LIST.
    On the Item List, there is the ability to "Look for"   ***any partial string of content *** within "All Field"  (ie: any small part of the DESCRIPTION field too!),  and you end up with a nice short list of "NAMES" that you could then COPY/PASTE over to the ORDER/QUOTE you are preparing.

    I've attached a screen shot showing what I mean, where I'm searching for the partial description content "sliding"   which conveniently provides all results, even with a mix of upper/lower case.
    PLUS you can even sub-search further, within discovered results (ie: only those "sliding" doors of size "3900"  (notice the screenshot is the result of a BOTH those searches, the second with the tickbox ON
