Sending forms has frozen and STOP button does not respond. How do I end the process?

I have emailed Statements.  It shows "Sending form 11 of 13" (so not a huge amount!).  It has not progressed, and clicking on STOP is not responsive.
I need to continue work and process pays but am stuck.
I have exited and logged back in, to be returned to the same screen.

    Hi Jocelyn, it is likely you have an email sitting in the background.  Press Ctrl and Page Up and it will bring it forward so you can send it.  If that doesn't work, sorry I don't know.

    Technical Support provided solution:  Through Control panel, I needed to "Log off and remove session"
